"the no naik is 88"
Apr 29,2009 , Alhamudillah, my thanks and prayers to Allah swt as another convocation I have to attend. This time in POLISAS,Kuantan for my 2nd sibling, Muhammad Azrin Azizi (DUT or Dip.Land Survey). He first enrolled as a student in July 2005, (http://family.webshots.com/photo/1486679802026261406IblVIM) and that's the link of the registration day where my family sent him.

Apr 29, 2009 was a clear hot day. My wife, Afiq and Aqilah took off from KL at about 8.10am and I had to take a 2-day leave as the ceremony started at 2.00pm , Apr 29. The traffic was also clear as I drove to Kuantan. To be safe, my thinking is to reach Kuantan at about 12.00 noon, visit my wife uncle's place Azreen Restaurant, Jalan Air Putih,Kuantan and shoots to Polisas before 2.00 pm. And alhamdulillah , we did managed as planned. Had lunch at the restaurant and by 2.00, we parked at the field of POLISAS.
Walked as tirelessly as possible as of POLISAS is a hilly-terrains and saw the grads lining-up outside the main hall. Quickly snapped a few of Azrin's pics as he walked to the main hall. These 'land surveyor' group was as usual as noisy as they can be, and believe it or not there are even late-comers for the ceremony. That's common for the 'engineering' group;even the Poly lecturers told me that 'mechanical students' are worst. To me it's common as this is graduation day and friends meeting after finishing studies.
What really matter is for us parents, to try to give and provide chances of education to our children. We have to give them the chance to enter schools no matter what program or course given to them (or as placed by UPU) and try to motivate them to continue their studies further.
After SPM, parents will be busy trying to ensure a place in the IPT for their children, and all this depends on the SPM results and 'luck'. That's the price of being a Malaysian, should our children been given a place in IPTA (alhamdulillah), if not extra ringgits will have to be borne by us. Normally, the last resort is the Polytechnics (for IPTA); and be it a Sijil (certificate) or Diploma (diploma) program just grab it. All parents should motivate and guide plus support (mentally, money...etc). The reality is no money no studies no children's future.
Again, Alhamdulillah my son was in the diploma program, so was her sister (ex-UITM Dip.Acc and Adv.Dip CIMA) and his brother (now in Poli Behrang for Dip.Elect.Computer).Though 'land surveying" is a kind of hard, dirty, tough .... job-market ( problem ), one still has to complete and further his/her study; he's now working (I dont know his position) in a private 'land-surveying' company but I do know it's not really a secure position so I still hope and pray to Allah that my son can continue and further his study to another level. I am praying that he will not lost-hope of trying to secure and further his studies and in the mean time just go on working (as doing nothing is worst).
During the ceremony,I was with a few colleagues from POLISAS as the likes of En Matzlan,Haji Alias and few others; but Hajjah Wan Azilah, Zul Che Din,Puan Azizah (better donggggg) and few others were not around; my wife and kids in the hall ... the occasions were not as grand as the UiTM (of course, UiTM holds '000s of students) but I find it not suffocating indeed; by 4.30pm the ceremony ended; parents were ushered to a small light refreshment at Jabatan Kejuruteraan Elektrik nearby; my son told me for the "jubah" and somegifts plus refreshment (mee goreng bodo, nasi goreng bogel, few pieces of oranges and "air batu kosong" plus "air ais limau pati); he paid RM 190.00.
By 5.30pm,after meeting some new friends , we walked back to the field of cars and vans, even a visit to the stalls were cut-short; by 6.00pm , on the road back to KL. Stopped for maghrib/isya prayers (jama' of course) at R&R Temerloh and reached Segambut at about 10.30pm. Of course had dinner at Iswara Restaurant before reaching home.
The Diploma (the graduation should be July 2008 but this is Malaysia)
To my son. Muhammad Azrin Azizi, congratulations and thank you again for making us happy as you had followed suit as one of the members attending an IPT graduation ceremony; we do hope and pray you can continue and further your studies to the next level. Of course you will have our support (and Allah blessing of course) and may your brothers and younger sister join you on the graduation stage too.
Emak, your sisters and brothers will always pray for you and hope you can be a much better person. Wasalam.
p.s.
Pity that I can only snapped 9 pics in all ... but it's worth better then nothing
Added 3 more pics on stage on May 26, 2009 as received 3 more on same day via mail
